Cancer Season Astrology
Summertime begins at the line where water meets the sand. There’s focus on the security of our homes and family life. Our vitality is likely to be directed toward pursuing emotional comfort. This means it’s a great time to consider and address our own emotional constitution. Cancer is a Cardinal Sign. Energetically, the sign represented by the crab is one of initiative, often driven to actively express its’ will. The summer Solstice marks the beginning of Cancer’s season. The astrology says, ‘Let’s get in touch with the part of us willing to take action supportive of a sense of safety’.

Cancer Season, in general, is about establishing security at a deeper level than the physical. Take a deep look at your insecurities in the house of the birth chart with Cancer on the cusp. Sensitivity and intuitive hits will likely be increased (especially at the new moon). Use the information to do something! There is also a tendency toward enmeshment and codependency at the low vibration. Needless to say, do be careful. Watch how much we allow emotionalism to inform our actions.

Mercury enters Cancer
(6/22/2023 – 7/11/2023)
I have this placement natally. What I will say about it is that intuition and emotional agility are acute while the planet of communications travels through cardinal water. However, the emotionalism of our verbal exchanges is obvious. We should not allow it to blind us to the actual content coming at us or to overpower our own expression of truth. There are jewels to be found that touch the heart, sure. More importantly, though, we’ll be asked to align our strategies and conversation with what speaks to the deepest parts of us. This requires both honesty and a mature approach to communications, creative projects and practical responsibilities.
Venus is in Leo

We’re in for an interesting 4 months! Venus will be in Leo from June 5th to October 8th. As we enter this season, Venus is just about to enter her retrograde shadow only a day later. The planet of pleasure, value, and relatability in fixed fire is about sustained enthusiasm for what makes us who we are. Creative self-expression will come more easily to the collective and as the retrograde takes place, we’ll be called to rediscover, recalibrate, and recreate what makes us feel valuable as an individual. Get honest about the good, bad, and ugly of who you are and determine what tangible value there is in expressing it unapologetically! Venus will station retrograde as Cancer season ends on July 22, 2023.
Mars in Leo until
7/10/2023
This Mars motivates the collective to step out, speak up, and show through our actions who we are, what we value and desire. Creativity is through the roof as is our desire to indulge in play, sex, and a little boasting. It’ll be important to observe our egoic impulses, as they are signs during this season that we are seeking acknowledgment without of what must be approved of from within. If you’re being who you are, the right people will easily notice.
Mars in Virgo
07/10/2023 – End of Cancer Season
As Mars changes signs into mutable earth, we’re able to ground the ego into practical planning and execution. This is where the art and play earn us material reward or show us where we’ve over indulged so we can start to recover losses. Mars in Virgo’s got a strong libido for pleasure too, but this placement will make it just as important to get the business handled. It’ll be easier too (Virgo energy is also about efficiency.), so try a little. ?

Jupiter in Taurus (May 16, 2023 – May 24, 2024) – Grounding our dreams and spiritual practices in reality. Persistence pays dividends. Acting in accordance with our values multiplies them.
Saturn in Pisces (March 7, 2023 – May 5, 2025 retrograde 6/17 – 11/4/2023) – We are taking responsibility for clearing the illusions within us and in our practical lives. Should we act pragmatically and consistently, we’ll shall be rewarded. This is a call from the Universe to use the wisdom of intuition and understanding gained through spiritual pursuits to create tangible structures in our mundane lives.
Uranus in Taurus (May 2018 and April 2026) – Upsetting the status quo via innovations in agriculture and finance. We are redefining value systems in ways that rebel against the norm. Establishing new comfort zones through the breakdown of what has been. New (and somewhat unorthodox) communities based on mutual benefits that are tangible in nature.
Pluto in Capricorn (retrograde) This is a review of the period of from November of 2008 to April of 2023, when Pluto initially transited Cardinal Earth. What outdated traditions, co-dependencies, and other structures are you still holding onto? Those of us with planets within the last 3 degrees of Cardinal and Earth signs will be feeling this the most. Before we can truly buckle down and transform our group identity (Pluto in Aquarius), we must purge anything that still dilutes our internal authority.
