Welcome to Sagittarius Season !
Sag Season Astrology
The fire meets the wind this season. Firstly, we start out with the sun entering the sign of mutable fire on November 22, 2023 at 9:03 EST. Mars is still making it’s sextile to Pluto, keeping the Scorpio energy alive for just a little longer (in true fixed sign fashion). Despite the inclination to stick to the familiar, seek change. If we utilized the energy efficiently while the Scorpio stellium was at play, most of us have done enough purging and clinging to last a lifetime and finally gotten a glimpse of the rewards of moving ever onward…
Next, we’ll have Mars follow the Sun into Sagittarius on the 24th, creating a stellium with Mercury, who’s been here since November 10. Then, on November 27, we’ll have the full Moon in Gemini. This energy will carry us through the end of the month, when Mercury enters Capricorn to mentally prepare us for the winter season on December 1st. The mutable season will move us regardless of our desire to resist, so it’s best to think now of moves that sooth and conserve our energies and resources.
Lastly, on December 4th we have Venus moving from her home in Libra into Scorpio and we are finding pleasure in the depths of ourselves and those around us. Sensuality in the darkness, value in the pangs of change. It’ll stay here until the 29th, when it will follow The Sun, Mercury, and Mars’ path through the sign of Sagittarius. If all this mutable energy isn’t compelling you to move forward, let go of what doesn’t serve or satisfy and try something new, you probably need to focus on increasing open mindedness for the duration of this season.

Collective Outlook
November 22 – December 21, 2023
Interestingly, we come into this month with a lot of lingering energy from Scorpio Season according to the tarot. It’s hard to ignore because the cards so accurately reflect what’s going on in the sky. Collectively, we are holding onto energy that needs to be released. That is, if we are trying to manifest lasting progress or security. Scorpio is the energy that purges anything that is inauthentic or no longer serving intimacy and foundational needs.
Obviously, the collective energy card is a repeat, despite its reversal. The energy is waning but there seems to be some resistance to fully cutting loose some reactionary egotism. Consequently, our intensity and desire for speed without consequence may be the reason many may find themselves confused pretty soon. Sagittarian energy wants to move fast, but pacing ourselves ensures we can sustain our effort over time.
As a matter of fact, our speed and desire for the new may actually hinder growth and lasting stability. ‘The Shining Flame’, traditionally known as the Knight of Wands is not at all fond of the wait and see approach to life. They don’t typically care for maintenance and sustainability as much as getting started. Always seeking a novel experience from which to build wisdom, this character is usually on the go. However, it shows up as a problem for the month suggesting our verve to move around may be rooted in a desire to escape responsibility, commitment, or routine. There are healthy ways around the dread of repetition.
As it were, the 7 of Pentacles suggests investing in the pleasure of process at its highest vibration. Mindfulness can show us the pleasure in the mundane, the feeling of the dirt as we plant seeds for success, the sight of first buds reaching toward sunlight, the satisfaction of pouring water and the certainty that our efforts and our belief in their value ensure positive results. It seems the Kings have taught us Knights a thing or 2 about running off on the plug. Maybe we’ll let our fire burn slowly this time around. ?
What’s Gone & Going
The collective is moving out of 2 of Wands energy after an experience with the Archangel Commander, also called the King of Swords in tarot. To clarify, this is a master of the mental realm. Here’s someone who has full control over their thoughts, words, and direction. They’ve also established a foundation and reputation for being just. If it applies to one of us, it means we’ve been strategizing a way forward that is facilitated by our intelligent use of words and skillful social maneuvering.
Accordingly, the Knight of Swords as our internal reaction to the past suggests the King has set a great example we wish to put in practice. The ‘Shining Gale’ is an energy that may need to focus on diplomacy, as he has a tendency to speak his truth without considering the impact of heavy truths. Delivery may make what is hard to hear a little more easy to accept. So, while we may find ourselves detached from the facts of a situation, don’t forget that what’s spoken also touches those who hear it. In other words, better speak to others the way you wish them to also address you.
What emerges
Nevertheless, it seems we’re still a little confused by the results of our past pursuits and may be considering the value of what has emerged. The 7 of Cups as the incoming influence is an indicator that there was probably a blind spot in our planning. Now, the results and opportunities presented may not be according to expectation. Still, there’s much opportunity. It’s a matter of updating the thinking to reflect the current situation. Also, make sure to look into what we missed before so as not to repeat such a mistake.
What results from our efforts to slow down our creative expression and pursuit of something new is acknowledgement of our skill and fortitude. We get through petty differences by applying both of the Knights’ energy with a small dose of compassion and a whole lot of discipline. The 6 of Wands or ‘The Champion’ card in tarot suggests having won a battle. On the other hand, some of us may gain the upper hand in a disagreement or a battle of wills and egos.
As we close out Sagittarius Season, the tarot reminds us to keep our wits about us. As you engage others, apply your will to that which has the potential to grow. That means we ought to be as discerning as we are discreet. Should you choose to communicate, try to imbibe your words with calm, especially if the truth is likely difficult to swallow. The Knight of Swords’ honesty often is.
Other Aspects to Consider…
- The 7 of Pentacles as an approach to Knight of Wands energy is deliberately pacing an enthusiastic advance toward new experience. We need not be ungrounded as we walk toward the unknown. If we pay close attention to the basic maintenance of our foundations before stepping out into the world, we’re more likely to find improved circumstances upon our return.
- The Knight of Swords as an emotional response to the King of Swords can suggest that we have an egoic response to a difficult truth ourselves. This King speaks with reason and forethought. This month, if you hear something that triggers you to speak out, do so without sacrificing integrity or needlessly wounding others.
- As clarity increases, so too does our motivation to get ourselves together. The Chariot speaks of aligning conflicting aspects of self to one goal and pursuing it with the full impact of one’s intensity. This tarot card is associated with Cancer. Accordingly, our manifestations this month are likely to compel our deepest emotions out to confront and transcend. Letting go 5 of Swords energy is not always easy, but it is usually necessary to make progress.
