Scorpio Season Has Arrived!

The Astrology

Welcome to the season of Fixed Water ?, folks! As the collective settles into Fall (or tries their damndest), we are in for a little Chaos of sorts. The Sun ☀️enters Scorpio ♏on October 23, 2023 at 12:21 pm EST. This is a deeply penetrating period where we take stock of our resources, both physical and ethereal, looking to spaces where our needs are not being met and where the feeling of insecurity has entered our lives. The honesty Scorpio energy requires of us is not the palatable, but the cathartic sort. There may be pains associated with letting go of emotional attachments. Not to mention, this month the Sun aspects Scorpio’s ruling planets, Mars (traditional) and Pluto (modern) the effects on us personally will intensify.

Obviously, those of you who have fixed and/or water placements (especially the ‘personal’ planets) will need to be particularly careful of what you cling to and why and how you go about amassing and discarding the resources provided to you by the universe. This includes people, environments, skills, talents, and things. The sun will conjunct Mars on November 18 and make a sextile aspect to Pluto in Capricorn on November 20, just before leaving the Scorpio on November 22 at 9:03 am EST.

Collective Outlook

October 23 – Novermber 22, 2023

Initially, we enter Scorpio season appearing aggressively self-interested, possibly to our and others’ detriment. ?Generally, the 5 of Swords as an embodied energy seeks to wound as retribution for a slight, usually of the ego. This is backbiting communications and underhanded compliments. It’s also below-the-belt arguments, silent treatments, triangulation, and malicious gossip. Or, as I said, it could simply be that we’ve made a conscious choice not to consider the impact of our words and actions on those around us. Beware, though, that does not at all mitigate the consequences of them!

Basically, it’s time to get our heads out of our asses in the interest of forward movement. Of course, the environment supports this message. It makes sense; they’re getting the brunt of our bullshit. As a matter of fact, it seems that jealousy over material foundations or the self-containment of another may be fueling our fire toward them. I often say when I encounter this kind of energy, “time is too precious to be a hater your whole life…”

Needless to say, someone’s ability to satisfy themselves without the resources or validation of others may trigger some strong reactions from us or we may be the ones doing the triggering. If you’re standing in your power, communicating with respect and maintaining independence, you’ve nothing to worry about, but I fear that Scorpio Season finds many of us wanting.

Worse, it may seem like those around us have got a monopoly on what we’re looking for. This is an illusion! The 9 of Pentacles finds its wealth first within, and takes practical, regulated steps to create the experience for itself physically. However, I get the sense that regardless of our stank ass attitudes, many of us have people around us that wish to support our quests for self-sufficiency. The Pents in this spread are definitely on our side. They also represent gratitude.

In particular, the problem we’re facing as a collective during Scorpio Season is represented by the tarot’s reversed 7 of Cups. We may have recently found clarity with regard to opportunities or choices being presented to us. However, now that we’ve learned what satisfies us (some, the hard way), we’re now faced with acting on those decisions in a way that keeps us in touch with our personal power. This is about gathering courage to stand independently and in our integrity. The approach card is fitting, then. It encourages us to take the practical steps to build new foundations that support the goal.

Needless to say, the Page of Pentacles indicates that we know what we need and we’re ready to put our hands in the dirt to get the roots popping. Ironically, Pages are often in need of guidance, assistance, or information. If we’re approaching our goal in the shadow of the 5 of Swords, all I can ask is “How you gon’ win, when you ain’t right within?” Not likely. Once you’ve seen clearly what direction best satisfies you and started along the path, don’t let your attitude toward community be the reason you’re idling.

What’s Gone & Going

Recently, we’ve gotten used to the power displays of the King of Wands energy around us. While he may have gotten on our last nerve with his endless enthusiasm to go forth or take control, we learned through his example how to exert our will into the universe. Most importantly, this card speaks to the embodiment of personal authority and autonomy. As a result, the collective has witnessed and practiced directed action, creative collaboration, and learned how to be effective and inspiring leaders. The 9 of Pentacles in the environment shows that the independence we seek is a common goal. Consequently, we may be asked to step up this season, and we’d benefit greatly from rising to the challenge.

Moreover, we’ll likely feel compelled to implement changes to our foundations that may change the dynamics of groups we’re building or recreating structure with. The 4 of Wands is a card that represents stability and community, as well as the individuals that make up the whole. Since this energy is waning through the season of fixed water (?), most will find foundations being upturned as group identities change and vice versa. Therefore, the question to be asking ourselves is what action we can take that does no harm but keeps us grounded through the chaos and our own internal reactions?

What emerges

Other Aspects to Consider…

  • The Corruptor” & “New World Order” XXI indicate that getting clarity brings an emotional cycle to a major ending. This is about closure externally as it is about resolving lingering feelings over past choices, circumstances, and versions of us that existed in those moments. This is the collective’s change to make choices without our feelings about past events activated so we can not only recognize but apply the lessons and moving forward. Too the 7 of Cups reversed is about seeing through illusions regarding new opportunities. Let’s make some new mistakes…
  • The Page of Earth approach to the King of Wands very much looks to me like taking a new direction full of confidence and meeting a pretty steep learning curve as far as processes and procedures are concerned. This can be specifically about health and finances. Too it suggests that we employ a grounded response to anybody’s attempts to exert control over us or engage power games within a group.
  • The cards making the foundational square of the reading (2,4,7,9) give the message that newfound clarity generates the necessary confidence to channel our power into planting seeds, growing roots, and closing out harmful cycles.

Overall, it seems we’ve recognized the truth behind some new and old options presenting themselves to us recently. There’s a certain type of calm after a period of indecisiveness is punctuated by timely information. Once we see the specific direction the facts are pointing us in, a blind spot is naturally cleared. In this pause, self-assurance manifests and a clear plan of action becomes both plausible and available.

Nevertheless, changing directions requires a concentration of power and self-belief. The World XXI confirms that we are no longer allowing the chaos of human existence to deter us from any path that leads to a holistic and abundant life experience. This is the Page of Pents at its best, seeking to learn and apply the lesson of slower development. This is the path of longer lasting health in mind, body, and pockets. ?
