A few hours after the Sun 🌞moves in, Mercury will make an auspicious conjunction to it’s ruler, Venus in Aries. This is going to motivate us to pursue our goals fearlessly, especially tangible achievements. Too, it’s likely going to have quite a few of us speaking way more directly about what and who we want. Next, on Apr. 21, we’ll see the Sun square Pluto in Aquarius triggering our sense of belonging (or lack thereof). Considering the signs and planets involved, at an archetypal level, this looks like it may have to do with social status, social values, and how our role within society and if the causes we concern ourselves with do or do not support our needs for community and security. The same day, we’ll see Venus conjunct Chiron. So, some of us may just get rewarded for the work we do to transcend wounds related to our self-definition and self-defense. For others, this may highlight the identities we find comfort in that ultimately cause us harm.

Later, Apr 23 brings the Scorpio full moon. Jupiter is still in range of a conjunct to Uranus as this lunation occurs. Deep catharis will be found in the strangest places and events are likely to take us by surprise.
Soon after, Mercury stations direct in Aries on the 25th of the month and we slowly start to pick up speed healing our identities and expressing our will. As the month closes, Venus will finally arrive home and follow the sun through Taurus. We get to experience what we value most in a tangible way. Initially, the fixed earth season begins with the collective emerging from the 6 of Cups’ emotional attachment to the past. Be it persons, perspectives, or physical items, there’s clear movement away from the innocent but probably unrealistic ideals of youth. We’re not kids anymore and the past gets blurrier with time. More specifically, the card speaks of our literal childhood and the emotional needs or expression of the inner child. It’s important to note that one is most often a result of the other. As we get the season started, our focus moves from the rusty but rose-colored yesteryears. Now, the collective is clarifying, cutting, and strategizing forward. We’re not losing sight of our hearts, though, just protecting them with more than a few sharp edges.

The Present

Interestingly, this spread has a lot of ‘sharp’ cards that share an emphasis on clarity and truth. The Queen of Swords stands in the present position. It’s a no-nonsense energy. We’re skeptical of what is not proven, direct in saying so, and the boundaries are strooong! They’re born of lived experiences with pain and disappointment, after all. Here’s a character whose discernment and discretion may even make them notorious. Nothing but what’s true gets through nowadays. Because she’s upright, that means in or out.

Despite her desire to detach from the emotional dynamics of the past with a clear forward direction, there seem to be blind spots. The unconscious position of the spread features the naturally contrary Hanged Man XII. Here’s a glaring red flag from the tarot that what we’re seeing is not all that is. What’s more, there’s more illumination possible should we open (Queen) our minds (Swords) to alternative ways of finding, analyzing, and responding to the truth as it becomes available.

The Unknown

In particular, card XII puts a pause on movement until we master the ability to remain mentally flexible. Hence, the reversed Princess (page) of the same suit lies at the bottom of the deck. In fact, a reversed Page of Swords is often either a spy or a notoriously presumptuous individual. This may be someone who assumes those who look good are… The Queen is trying to cut through the bullshit but she may not see every source. Yet.

For a small few, there have been attempts to reconcile with people from the past. Emotions may have led the decision. However, thinking caps have been placed and a need to slow down or reconsider is clear. What expands our outlook and experience is priority. Can this person, place or thing from the past follow our new rules of engagement? This question needs to be answered during Taurus Season.

Essentially, in our truth-seeking quests and speech, we are called to be cognizant of illusions and deceit. Don’t exclude yourself from this keen observation and analysis either. It’s equally important to not where we maintain our own illusions. Success during Taurus Season 2024 may depend on our ability to spread the light evenly. While those around us don’t seem to be any clearer than we are about just how our engagement with the past is going wayward, we all seem to just sense that it’s so.
