Pisces Season Astrology
February
The Universe’s signals to change grow more obvious and intense when the Sun enters Pisces on February 18th. Mutable Water represents the collective unconscious and the powers of the subconscious mind to transform us at the core. It is the embodiment of universal connectivity, taking its multitude of expressions from all the signs that precede it. The last zodiac sign, therefore, has become symbolic of unconditional love. Contrarily, it’s also one of deception, illusion, isolation, and escape. As we enter Pisces season, seeing through our own bullshit and taking responsibility for its dissolution will be the focal point of the month. Consequently, our quests for safety, satisfaction, and transformation will ask us to get clear on how we can become change agents in our own lives.
All year, Saturn, planet of responsibility, structure, and restriction will be transiting this sign, coloring this season with its serious energy. Visiting a notoriously changeable sign, this planet, rather than creating solid walls upon which to build, is creating mechanisms that enhance the productivity of a constant, but multi-directional flow of energy. In other words, AI for the soul’s urges. Not even a week after the Sun moves, Mercury will enter the sign on February 23rd, helping us use our intuition to create strategies for healing, transcendence, and deeper intimacy. We’ll all be tasked with using our imaginations constructively. In Pisces, it’s finding creative ways to express and live all aspects of our truths rather than give into the temptation to hide or escape them.
Just after Mercury enters Pisces, we’ll have a full moon in Virgo, the sign of its rulership. That’s on the 24th. Specifically, this moon is going to expose or intensify the impact of all those places where we still need to heal, organize, and be of service to ourselves and others. This is about the practical routines that support our healing holistically. This is the path to aligning with the Saturn in Pisces at its best. This entails self-acceptance and grace for the flaws we identify in others.
March
Mercury will move onto Aries on March 9th, freeing us to act on our imaginations and give our minds a little rest. A day later, the New Moon in Pisces occurs on the 10th, and then Venus moves into the sign, where it’s delightfully exalted to give us a taste of what Saturn’s rewards might look like if we get it (most of it) right. Use this transit to clarify new moon intentions in ways that satisfy the imagination with a little Saturnian elbow grease.
Overall, we’re trying to ease into the water for the duration of this month, but circumstances may force us to get real with ourselves and do a bit of practical housekeeping. On the other hand, some of us may need to dive in the pool headfirst just to move past the shock of emotion we’re facing. (Aquarius Season had most of us decidedly detached.) This in turn will ease our minds so that we can look forward with an eye on living the ideal as each of us defines it.
Moreover, we’re closing out a zodiac cycle of re-alignment with self-worth regardless of appearances or outside influence. This season is where we get to practice what it means to ‘express, not impress’. Better, we’ll get a small glimpse when Venus moves of how we can benefit from building on this type of authenticity consistently, like Saturn wants. The Sun will leave Pisces and enter Aries on March 19, 2024 at 11:07 PM EST. This moment marks the Spring Equinox and the end of the 2023-2024 zodiac year.

Collective Outlook
Collective & Environmental Energies
Initially, the Pisces season tarot features a broken heart or two (or 3, or 5,). In fact the collective shows up to this month as the emotionally dissatisfied 5 of Cups. It’s possible that some of us are wallowing over some regretful action or event. To clarify, this card symbolizes the consequences of misjudgment in our emotional bonds with others. It can also represent familiarity with discontent making us oblivious to opportunities for healing. In this deck, though, I often interpret this card as moving through the turbulence of our own emotions as we embark on healing and quests for new connections.
5’s are unstable, but also dynamic. There is a skilled maneuvering that comes from working through the changes. Moreover, those around us are keen to exert their authority where they sense incompetence or deception. So, we’ll need to be as direct as we are discerning, detached and strategic. It won’t be easy to remain detached or compassionate, as we are wading in some deep waters. Know that a little effort makes a big difference. It may also bring some power players our way. Most notable is the Emperor, who is the head of management in his world. This person creates laws and bestows titles. They guide those who guide lay people and expect full cooperation with their will. Their interest is the wellbeing of the group.
Problems, Intentions, and Approach
However, the collective has set its sights on self-satisfaction, via the 9 of Cups. This is doing what makes us feel good, whole, even a little smug about what we’re providing for ourselves. Approaching someone responsible for multiple communities with obvious self-interest is not likely to go over well. Better start working on a tribe or sense of belonging if you haven’t already. You’ll want to show the emperors in our lives we have the capacity for cooperation. Aquarius Season showed each of us what that may look like and what it might take. Best to start now. It’s got to be real and that’ll take some time. It won’t do to put on a sleight of hand performance for someone who’s seen it all.
The Magician as the problem says we already tried every trick in the book when following the rules would better serve our ends. Combined with The Tower as the collective emotional state, there’s clear restlessness and desire to fuck shit up. However, effective disruption is not without forethought and strategy. Nor must it be dishonest. Too, the cards show many of us need some TLC before presenting ourselves to the crown. The 3 of Swords as a responsive action toward The Magician does not bode well for success. A few may need to make decisive but painful closures to relationships where we now realize we’ve been manipulated. This month is definitely going to intensify the feeling experience one way or another. How are you going to stay steady through these waves? The Magician reminds you that anything you say can (and often will) be used against you.
What’s Gone & Going
Past & Outgoing Influences
Interestingly, we have the Page of Swords in our past adding to the current issue. Did we ask the wrong question or speak the wrong truth? Could it possibly be we’ve confided in someone not worthy of our trust? On the other hand, some of us may have reacted rather explosively to someone else’s divulgence. In the Pisces season tarot, this card shows that whatever verbal exchange this Page had left some bruised egos and hurt feelings in its wake.
Now, as we move deeper into the season, we find ourselves moving away from relationships and circumstances we thought should or would go the distance with us. There’s a peace-seeking energy to the 6 of Swords, no matter the deck. In the Black Tales Tarot, the character uses their 6 swords to create a barrier between themselves and the chaos behind them. It asks, “How can we free our minds to return from the hurtful past to this moment?”
What emerges
Incoming & Future Influences
The answer will look different for all of us but is in fact the same. Open to, invite, allow, or actively pursue CHANGE. Our pains will leave us unrecognizable to ourselves if we let them. The phases of physical aging often do as much to the psyche as our mobility. That is the message of the Death card. Change is constant, and often painful. Suffering, though, is a choice. More importantly, there is hope in our agency. It is choice that decides the direction of our transformations. It is presence, honesty and compassion that ease transitions. The reward for our dedication to remaining in flow with our hearts and foundations is new and stable growth. It’s the kind that has the potential to return our healing energy back to us. Maybe some money too.?
